“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” – 2 Timothy 2:15

Apostle Paul isn’t talking about impressing people. He’s talking about standing before God. The word “approved” was used for metalworkers who tested their work to make sure it could stand the fire. God is looking for workers whose lives can pass the test. That means integrity when no one is watching, faithfulness in small things, and a heart that wants God’s “well done” more than man’s applause. Approval doesn’t come from being perfect, but from being faithful. When you show up to work, to church, to your family, to your studies, ask: “Am I doing this in a way that God can approve?” Because one day every life will be presented, and only what was done for Him will last.

Paul calls us “workers.” Christianity is not passive. God has given each of us a field to till. Whether that’s in the office, the market, the classroom, or the home. A worker who has no need to be ashamed is someone who didn’t cut corners. They didn’t lie to get ahead. They didn’t do just enough to get by. They gave their best because they were working for the Lord, not for men. Shame comes when we know we could have done more, prayed more, loved more, and we didn’t. But when we give our best to God, even if the results are small, we can stand with our heads up. Not because we’re proud, but because we were faithful with what was in our hands.

The greatest tool in the worker’s hand is the Word of God. To “rightly handle” it means to study it, to live it, and to teach it without twisting it. In a world full of opinions, half-truths, and viral lies, God is calling for people who know the truth and use it carefully. Like a surgeon with a scalpel, we must cut straight; applying scripture to our own lives first, before we try to apply it to others. When we handle the Word rightly, it heals instead of hurts, it builds instead of breaks, and it points people to Jesus instead of to ourselves. So do your best. Study. Obey. Teach. Live. And present yourself to God as a worker He can approve, because you handled His truth with honor.

God is not asking for perfection. He’s asking for diligence. Do your best today. In your character, in your work, and in your handling of His Word. And trust that the One who called you will also approve you.
