Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker! – Psalm 95:6
As the popular adage goes, “a man who kneels before God can stand before every man.” Connoting that a man who kneels before God Induces special grace and power to stand before every man, even the most powerful and influential, who may seem inaccessible to many people. Our verse for today “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!” is an invitation to make a habit of bowing down and kneeling before our maker in worship. When we kneel before God, we are not only worshipping. We are also telling God that we have zero care for our social status or standings. We are telling God that we still have need of Him like a baby needs a mother to survive.
This show of humility and surrender attracts the grace of God for men to reflect Christ. As the scripture says, “God gives grace to the humble.” Any man who reflects Christ walks in the wisdom and power of Christ, which is able to break all strongholds and draw men near. (Luke 2:52)
In the coming year, let us prioritize spending time in the presence of God. Let us prioritize kneeling before Him in prayer, in worship, laying all our crowns. For by so doing, we will not only reaffirm our reliance and need for Him, we will also reflect His very nature.
