As Jesus Did

Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did. – 1 John 2:6

The hard but simple truth about Christianity today is that not many people are willing to take the narrow path. I mean, there are people who were born and raised in the church that actually don’t have a relationship with God.

Jesus said to his disciples, “anyone who wants to be like me must first deny themselves, pick up their cross and follow me.” The three components that sum up this verse is self-denial, complete obedience and servanthood, if we’re being honest with ourselves, how many of us are actually walking that talk.

As our verse for today suggests, anyone who claims to be in God must live as Christ did. Christ, being our ultimate example of a man who lived without sin, totally submitted his will to God. His life serves to us a blueprint – He denied himself, picked up his cross and completely obeyed God.

In essence, He submitted His will to God. I pray that we will all have the strength and courage to deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow him in complete obedience – for that is the only acceptable way we can live like Him, and thereby be in Him.
