“That day the Lord exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they stood in awe of him, just as they had stood in awe of Moses, the Lord’s servant.” (Joshua 4:14)
As Joshua led the Israelites through the Jordan River and into the Promised Land, God did something remarkable. He exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel, giving him a position of leadership and authority that was previously held by Moses. This was not just a human promotion, but a divine appointment. God was demonstrating His approval and endorsement of Joshua’s leadership, and the people responded by standing in awe of him.
This verse reminds us that true leadership is not about personal ambition or human achievement, but about divine appointment and empowerment. When God calls and equips someone for leadership, He also gives them the authority and influence they need to fulfill their role. This is a powerful reminder for all of us, whether we are in positions of leadership or not. We must always look to God as the source of our strength and authority, and trust in His sovereign plan for our lives.
So let us take a lesson from Joshua’s experience, dear friends. Let us seek to follow God’s leading and guidance in our lives, and trust in His sovereign plan for us. Whether we are called to leadership or not, may we always look to God as the source of our strength and authority, and may we bring glory to Him in all that we do.
