“Joshua told the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.’” (Joshua 3:5)

As the Israelites prepared to cross the Jordan River and enter the Promised Land, Joshua gave them a crucial instruction: “Consecrate yourselves.” This meant that they were to set themselves apart from sin and worldly influences, and dedicate themselves to God’s service. It was a call to spiritual preparation, a recognition that the challenges and opportunities ahead would require a deep reliance on God’s power and presence.

Joshua’s words remind us that we too must consecrate ourselves to God’s service. We must set ourselves apart from the sin and distractions of the world, and dedicate ourselves to following God’s will. This requires a deliberate choice, a commitment to seek God’s presence and power in our lives. As we consecrate ourselves to God, we can trust that He will do amazing things among us, just as He did for the Israelites.

So let us take Joshua’s words to heart, dear friends. Let us consecrate ourselves to God’s service, setting ourselves apart from sin and worldly influences. Let us seek God’s presence and power in our lives, trusting that He will do amazing things among us. May we be a people who are dedicated to God’s service, and may we experience the blessing and power of His presence in our lives.
