“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.” – Colossians 4:5
As followers of Christ, we are called to live in a way that reflects the gospel to those around us. This includes the way we interact with outsiders, those who do not yet know Christ. Paul encourages us to be wise in the way we act toward them, to be intentional and thoughtful in our interactions. This means being mindful of our words and actions, and seeking to make a positive impression on those around us.
But why is this so important? It’s because every interaction we have with an outsider is an opportunity to share the gospel and point them to Christ. Paul says to “make the most of every opportunity.” This means being prepared to share our faith, to answer questions, and to show the love of Christ to those around us. It means being intentional about building relationships and looking for ways to share the gospel.
So let us be wise and intentional in our interactions with outsiders, dear friends. Let us make the most of every opportunity to share the gospel and point people to Christ. May we be ambassadors of the kingdom, reflecting the love and light of Christ to a world that desperately needs it. May we be faithful witnesses, making the most of every opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
