“While you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” (Acts 4:30)

In this verse, the early Christian church is praying for boldness to preach the gospel, and for God to stretch out His hand to heal and perform signs and wonders. This prayer is rooted in their understanding of God’s power and desire to heal and restore. As they pray, they acknowledge that any healing or miraculous signs that occur are not because of their own power or abilities, but because of the name of Jesus Christ.

As we reflect on this verse, let us remember that our prayers should be rooted in a deep understanding of God’s power and character. We should pray with confidence, knowing that God is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine. And when we pray for healing or miracles, let us remember that it is not our own abilities or strength that bring about these things, but the power of Jesus Christ working through us.

So let us pray with the early Christian church, dear friends, asking God to stretch out His hand to heal and perform signs and wonders. Let us pray with boldness and confidence, knowing that God is able to do great things. And let us always remember to give glory to Jesus Christ, who is the source of all healing and miracles. May our prayers be answered, and may God’s power be manifest in our lives and in the world around us.
