So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6)
As believers, we face many challenges and uncertainties in life. We may feel anxious about the future, overwhelmed by our circumstances, or intimidated by the opinions of others. But this verse reminds us that we have a powerful ally who is always with us: the Lord. He is our helper, our rock, our shield, and our salvation. With Him by our side, we can face any challenge with confidence and courage.
The question “What can mere mortals do to me?” is not a statement of arrogance or complacency, but rather a declaration of faith. It’s a recognition that, no matter what challenges or difficulties we may face, they are ultimately subject to the sovereignty and power of God. When we trust in the Lord as our helper, we can face the future with confidence, knowing that He is greater than any obstacle or adversary we may encounter.
So let us hold onto this promise, dear friends, and let it shape the way we live our lives. Let us trust in the Lord as our helper, and let us face the challenges of life with confidence and courage. For when we know that the Lord is our helper, we can overcome any obstacle, and we can live with hope, peace, and joy, no matter what the future may hold.
