For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. – Romans 1:16
As believers, we are called to embody the same boldness and conviction that Paul expressed. 2 Corinthians 5:18 tells us that God has entrusted the ministry of reconciliation to all who believe in the name of Jesus. We are tasked with sharing the good news with all, regardless of background or circumstance. The gospel is not just a message but the very power of God unto salvation for all who believe. It is a gift meant to be shared, a gift that transcends barriers and transforms lives.
Many Christians today face challenges when it comes to sharing their faith with others. Various factors like fear of judgment, societal pressures, or lack of confidence can contribute to this struggle. However, there is a way to overcome these obstacles and find the courage to share one’s faith confidently and respectfully. When Jesus was ascending to Heaven on Mount Olives, He charged His disciples to wait on gift of the Holy Spirit. Many days they waited, until the power of the Holy Spirit come upon them on the day of Pentecost, scripture says the Holy Spirit gave them boldness.
We have to emulate Jesus and the fathers of the faith, we too must desire the Holy Spirit and be ready to wait on Him. Only through Him will we receive the power and boldness to share the good news of Christ without fear of getting judged or blackballed. I pray that we all receive outpourings from the Holy Spirit that will embolden us to go out there and preach Christ.
