Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. – Mark 11:23

Celestine’s life was centered around church, home and her workplace. She is someone who hated being in the spotlight, so on days when she was called up at church to read a Bible verse or make the announcement, she would cringe inwardly before doing so. If she had her own way, she would go unnoticed for as long as she can. She tells me that one time her doctor diagnosed her with nabothian cyst. She would not accept that report; nor live with it. So she spoke to the situation everyday until her next appointment, tests showed the cyst had disappeared.

Celestine’s testimony is a good demonstration of how much power our words possess. It has been a constant reminder and reference point for me in times of difficulty.

Our message for today also speaks to the incredible power of our words and faith in God. It is a powerful demonstration of our authority in Christ and the effectiveness of faith-filled words. Just as Jesus spoke about moving mountains with unwavering faith, we are reminded of the limitless potential that lies within our faith. When we truly believe in the power of our words and have faith in God’s promises, miraculous things can happen in our lives.

Brothers and sisters, let us not underestimate the strength of our faith. It is through our unwavering belief and trust in God that we can overcome the seemingly insurmountable obstacles in our lives.

As we go forth from this place, may we carry with us the assurance that our faith can move mountains. Let us speak with conviction, believe with all our hearts, and trust in the promises of our Lord. May this verse serve as a beacon of hope and a reminder of the incredible power that faith holds. With God by our side, we can conquer any challenge, move any obstacle, and experience the wonders of His grace in our lives. Amen.
