As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man – Matthew 24:37
It’s interesting to think about what the second coming of Christ might be like. Some people believe it will be a time of great change and transformation. But Jesus gives us an overview of how it will be. In Matthew 24, He mentioned the similarities between the days of Noah and the time leading up to his second coming.
He talked about how people were going about their daily lives, not expecting anything out of the ordinary. They were eating, drinking, getting married, and going about their normal routines. It’s like a sense of complacency and unawareness of the impending judgment, even though Noah had been warning them for decades. Jesus used this comparison to emphasize the importance of being prepared and staying vigilant because God has many “Noahs” today warning men of his second coming and pleading all to accept Christ.
It is important to have a personal relationship with Jesus and live according to his teachings. This includes seeking forgiveness for our sins, practicing love and kindness towards others, and staying connected to God through prayer and studying the Bible. It’s also important to stay alert and watchful, being aware of the signs of the times and staying faithful to our beliefs. Ultimately, it’s about living a life that reflects our hope and anticipation for the second coming.
Scripture highlights various signs that will precede the end times. Some of these signs include natural disasters, wars and conflicts, the rise of false prophets, an increase in wickedness, and the spread of the Gospel to all nations. These signs are often mentioned in religious texts and teachings, and many people interpret current events in light of these prophecies. It is important that as Christians, we observe these signs and walk in the light therein, just as Noah and His family. Just as the men of Issachar.
1 Chronicles 12:32 makes mention of the men of Issachar. The Bible describes them as men who understood the times and were known for their wisdom and discernment. They had a deep understanding of the current events and the significance of those events in relation to God’s plans and purposes. They were able to interpret the signs of the times and make informed decisions based on that understanding. It’s a reminder for us to seek wisdom and discernment in our own lives as we navigate the complexities of the world around us.
It is my prayer that we will all stay vigilant and be discerning as the men of Issachar, so we will be ready for our Lord and not be caught off guard at His second coming. In Jesus name, Amen.
