Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me? – Jeremiah 32-27

Any time I chance on this verse, I begin to think about all the wonders God did throughout scripture and in the lives of all those who believed in Him to this day. I recall Moses parting the Red Sea, Joshua commanding the sun to stand still, Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead, all the other powerful testimonies that defy nature. All these tell me that God will stop at nothing to see that His word concerning His children come to pass. If He could stop time, revive us from the dead, send His son to die for us and promise us eternal rest in his company, then there is nothing He cannot do for us.

We know that the Jews were enslaved by the Egyptians for more than four centuries. For centuries, all they knew was suffering, starvation and segregation. It seemed farfetched that any of them at all could think of freeing themselves from the claws of the Egyptians, but God sends Moses and all this change. By His hand, a 400 year old routine is broken and the people are freed. Knowing this, I have a strong conviction that nothing is impossible for God to do, just as our scripture for today suggests. He says, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me ?

It is possible to think we may never overcome a situation we have endured for a long time. Especially after we’ve been standing in faith in prayer and hoping for the best. It may seem as though illness, that addiction, financially inadequacy, anxiety or sadness has a permanent place in our life, but our verse for today indicate otherwise. It tells us that no situation is permanent, it tells us that our God is the God of all flesh and He has the authority to end cycles and make set free. Free from illness, stagnation, anxiety, sadness, poverty etc.

I pray that we uphold this truth with all our heart and press on in prayer and faith for the miracle we have so longed for, in Jesus name. Amen!
