Write It Down

Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets… for the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it;it will certainly come and will not delay. – Habakkuk 2:2-3

God is a writer, and this doesn’t get talked about enough! We learn many times about God being love, just,a provider, sustainer of life etc. but one of His attributes that barely gets talked about is He being a writer.

The Bible connotes writing as God’s most used instrument to pass down instructions and guidance to His children. It has more than 65 books! He starts by inscribing the Ten Commandments Himself, then reveals the first four books to Moses to inscribe. He goes on to use many scribes and prophets to pass down wisdom to us, His children. (2 Timothy 3:16)

Therefore, as followers of Jesus, let us be imitators of God. Not only In love, but also in writing, for He is still writing. (Jeremiah 31:33)

Students write down notes from their lecturers because the study notes are valuable to them in the present and in the future. It is the same with God, we risk a lot when we sleep on our visions and revelations. Write down your visions, write down your dreams, make notes from your quiet time. The word of God will serve its purpose in your life now, and in the future

In Daniel 5, we see Daniel reminding God about His promise to bring back Israel from captivity, a promise that takes premise from a prophecy written down by Jeremiah. In other words, Jeremiah wrote it down, in the fullness of time Daniel took action and prayed it into existence.

Two key things we can all take from this, write it down and take action.

God does not only expect that we write down His promises and visions. We are to persist in prayer over them until they materialize. “You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes you and makes you a praise in the earth.”: (Isaiah 62:6-7)

It is easier to pray for guidance when you know the direction He wants to take you. Write it down, pray over it, and watch God do His thing.

God bless you!
